More updates! Registry, places to stay, and things to do!

Registry

For our wedding, we decided to register for a honeymoon trip. We want to celebrate our marriage by making some great memories together. We're going to Japan, stopping in Hiroshima, Kyoto, and Tokyo. There is a lot to do in Japan, and your gift will help us have the best trip ever!  Here is a link to our registry page:

Where to Stay?

The wedding venue is in the same part of town that we live in - Capitol Hill.  There are no hotels in Capitol Hill, but there are plenty of amazing bed and breakfasts.  Here's a few of them:

Bed and Breakfast Inn Seattle - http://www.seattlebednbreakfast.com/
Foxglove Guesthouse - http://www.foxgloveguesthouse.com/
Bed & Breakfast on Broadway - http://www.bbonbroadway.com/
If B&B's aren't your thing, there are hotels in the University District, which is just a short bus ride away:

Things to do in Seattle

We love our city, and we hope that all of our out of town friends and family will take the opportunity to experience it.  We wish we could take everyone out and show you our favorite places, but unfortunately we probably won't have time.  If you're wondering what to do while you're here, here's a list of our favorites:

Pike Place Market - http://pikeplacemarket.org/
Theo Chocolate Factory Tour - https://www.theochocolate.com/factory-tour
Seattle Underground Tour - http://www.undergroundtour.com/
Pacific Science Center - http://www.pacificsciencecenter.org/
Experience Music Project Museum - http://www.empmuseum.org/
Seattle Space Needle - http://www.spaceneedle.com/
Annapurna Cafe (our favorite restaurant) - http://annapurnacafe.com/

Wedding schedule, RSVP stalking, and additional guests

Hello everyone! It's been a busy few months!

Schedule

Thursday night will be the "bachelor party"... more like "an excuse to get everybody together party." Everyone is welcome, Matt and I will both be there, and there will not be any *ahem* hired performers. That's all I know about it! My good friend Drew is heading this up. If you've got ideas or you'd like to pitch in, you can contact him at drew dot humberd at gmail dot com. Matt and I would be happy to accept financial support for the party as a wedding gift!

Friday night will be the rehearsal dinner, which is being put on by Barry and Sharon Nelson; thank you, Barry and Sharon! The dinner will be in the evening at Ivar's Salmon House. "Am I invited to this dinner?" you might ask yourself. Are you a family member of Matt or Dagan, part of the wedding party, or the guest of one of the wedding party? If so, you are invited!

Saturday will be the wedding! It's taking place at the Shafer-Baillie Mansion in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Seattle (map here). Guests are welcome starting at 3:30pm; the ceremony will be at 4:00pm. A dinner buffet will be available starting at 5:00pm. Festivities will conclude and cleanup will begin at 9:00pm. Afterwards, Matt and I will be heading to the Raygun Lounge to relax, drink (it's a bar!), and maybe play some board games. Everyone is welcome! (We have the place reserved.)

Sunday around noon there will be a brunch for just family at a TBD location. We're not expecting that everyone will be able to make it, but for those who can, we're looking forward to having our family hang out and connect in a smaller, informal group.

That's the schedule; hope it sounds fun! It's a lot of events, but that's on purpose. We have so many friends and family making the trip out here to Seattle, and we wanted to make sure everybody gets a chance to spend time with us.

RSVPs

We're at the point where we really need RSVPs, so if you haven't yet confirmed whether you'll be coming, please please do. Someone will be harassing you soon if you don't!

Additional guests

We love the space we picked out for the wedding, but its biggest drawback is it's not very large. To be blunt, we've over-invited; we've been surprised and gratified by the number of people who are making the trip to come see us -- a lot more than we anticipated. Because of this, we have to ask that you not bring a guest if your invitation doesn't say "and guest."

We hope you're having a great summer, and we're looking forward to seeing you soon!

Love,
Matt and Dagan
